Job Title: Summer Student 

  We aim to create safe spaces that invite and engage children, youth and seniors from the community to explore faith issues through programs, fun activities, and outreach events.  We are seeking a summer student who is interested in working as a Ministry Assistant to our Director of Children & Youth Ministry, to develop and implement these relationship-building initiatives for Children, Jr. & Sr. High Students and Seniors. This position will be 35 hours per week with a planned start date of July 2nd till August 23rd 2024 for 8 weeks.  

  Tasks and Responsibilities: The individual will be supervised by the Director of Children & Youth Ministry and will meet weekly for input, direction, and planning relating to the job.  The individual will help to provide support for weekly Children’s Ministry programs, Summer Sports Camp, VBS (Vacation Bible School), summer Youth Events, and community service projects. To engage our children through sports and fun activities in doing this we will be building relationships.  

  Collaborate with the Director of Children & Youth Ministry to plan and organize events including VBS, Summer Camp, and intergenerational activities.  The individual to help facilitate opportunities for children and youth to live out their faith through intergenerational participation in church services, weekly programming, and community outreach events. 

Qualifications  

● The Individual must be between 15 and 25 years of age. 

● A passion for working with children & youth, and a desire for community outreach. 

● Organized & Responsible 

● Team player who is capable of working independently when necessary. 

● Friendly & personable and demonstrates confident relational skills. 

● Be creative in programming and flexible with working hours. 

● Be a Canadian citizen, have a valid Social Insurance Number
